Recent advances in calcium silicate–based materials have expanded the therapeutic options available in contemporary endodontics. Rather than representing a replacement for conventional techniques, these materials should be considered an additional tool that can be integrated into a comprehensive biological and mechanical approach to root canal treatment.
Calcium silicate–based materials exhibit favorable physico-chemical and biological properties, including hydrophilicity and bioactivity, which may enhance the sealing of the root canal system. The availability of different formulations, each characterized by specific handling properties and clinical indications, allows clinicians to tailor their use according to the operative requirements and the selected obturation strategy.
This webinar will review the current scientific evidence supporting the clinical use of bioceramic materials and discuss their application in daily practice. Through clinical cases, the obturation techniques will be analyzed, highlighting both the potential advantages and the limitations of these materials in contemporary endodontic treatment.
