Brian has recently rejoined Colgate and is now Director of Toxicology in the Global Product Safety Group. Brian’s responsibilities include identification of new toxicological findings on ingredients important to Colgate with an initial focus on Triclosan. In addition, Brian participates in the ingredient issues management strategy and information development driven by Colgate’s core values of product stewardship and pharmacovigilance.
Prior to coming back to Colgate, Brian was a Toxicology/Business Liaison at the Stine-Haskell Laboratory of the DuPont Company. Brian’s responsibilities at DuPont included integration and management of all toxicology and risk assessment support of strategic business units. This included technical lead for registration of several chemicals under the REACh regulation in the European Union. Brian also had responsibility for the development of the consumer products and brand licensing risk assessment competency for the DuPont Company.
Brian’s prior experience at Colgate was within the Product Safety Assurance group where his responsibilities included safety support for Hard Surface Care and Institutional Products Division. Brian also served for several years as Product Safety’s Category Team Leader for the Oral Care Category supporting significant product development.
Brian is a board certified toxicologist and maintains membership in the Society of Toxicology, The Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, and the Personal Care Products Council. Brian completed a postdoctoral fellowship with the US EPA National Health and Environmental Effects Research Laboratory and earned his Ph.D. in Toxicology from the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, State University of New York at Buffalo.
