The hydraulic cement journey—modulation to success
The aim of this lecture is to explain the material interactions in detail and guide the clinicians on how the use the materials appropriately.
They hydraulic cements have been used in dentistry since the introduction of mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) used as a root end filling material and for repair of root perforations. These materials were introduced due their hydraulic nature and the interaction with the clinical environment. Currently there are various formulations on the market and are used for all endodontic procedures. There is lack of clinical awareness and optimised protocols for the use of these material types. The aim of this lecture is to explain the material interactions in detail and guide the clinicians on how the use the materials appropriately.
