Studium der Zahnmedizin und Medizin mit Promotion an den Universitäten Witten/Herdecke und Bochum. Facharzt für MKG-Chirurgie, Koordination mehrerer DFG-geförderter Forschungsprojekte, Leitung von Tierversuchen sowie der AG Biomaterialien/Knochenersatz im “Zentrum für Klinische Forschung” der Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Preisträger des Innovationspreises Ruhrgebiet 2002. Seit 2005 Leiter der klinischen Forschung der Klinik für MKG-Chirurgie, Plastische Operationen des Klinikum Dortmund. Seit 2007 Gründungsgesellschafter und Geschäftsführer der DDI-Group sowie Projektleiter mehrerer durch das BMBF geförderter Projekte. Seit 2013 zudem Gründungsgesellschafter des IMDI – Institute for Medical und Dental Innovations gGmbH, einem An-Institut der Universität Witten/Herdecke, in enger Kooperation mit der Ruhr-Universität Bochum und der Technischen Hochschule Dortmund. Ziel des IMDI ist es, Forschungs- und Entwicklungsprojekte zu realisieren, welche in den Schnittmengen zwischen Medizin, Zahnmedizin, Technik und Informatik angesiedelt sind.

Dr. Angelo Mariotti graduated from Grove City College with a B.S. in biology and education and matriculated to West Virginia University where he received his Ph.D. in Pharmacology & Toxicology and a D.D.S.  Following specialty training in periodontology from Virginia Commonwealth University, he became a faculty member in the Department of Periodontology and Pharmacology & Therapeutics at the University of Florida.

While at the University of Florida, he was appointed to and served as the Director of the Postgraduate Program in Periodontology and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.  In 1996, he accepted a faculty position in the College of Dentistry at The Ohio State University where he is professor and Chair of the Division of Periodontology.

He currently serves as the President of the Columbus Dental Society, as a member of the Council of Access to Care and Public Service of the Ohio Dental Association, as a consultant for the Council of Scientific Affairs for the America Dental Association, on the Advisory Board for the Journal of Periodontology and Clinical Advances in Periodontics, as an examiner for the American Board of Periodontology, and as an editor of Pharmacology and Therapeutics for Dentistry.

As an endocrine pharmacologist, his scientific interests revolve around the actions and interactions of sex steroid hormones on cellular proliferation and growth in sex accessory tissues and the oral cavity and he also has a major interest in issues related to dental health care economics.  In addition to his research and teaching, Dr. Mariotti maintains an active private practice in periodontology in The Ohio State Dental Faculty Practice Association, is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists and is listed as one of the Best Dentists in America.

Professor and Graduate Program Director, Idaho State University

JoAnn Gurenlian, RDH, MS, PhD, is Professor and Graduate Program Director of the Department of Dental Hygiene at Idaho State University. She is the Past President of the International Federation of Dental Hygiene and the American Dental Hygienists’ Association. Dr. Gurenlian is the co-author of the textbook “Preventing Medical Emergencies” and author of over 260 publications in dental hygiene, dental and medical journals. She has conducted over 570 presentations at regional, national and international events. Dr. Gurenlian was awarded affiliate fellow status in the American Academy of Oral Medicine in 2019.
