Oral Care for Older Patients: Section 2: Innovations in Interprofessional Care
This section will consist of three presentations on the topics of paving the way to promoting inter-professional teams, nursing and dental education and learning from mobilization of a HIV-Aids Oral health Strategy.
Interprofessional education and collaborative practice strategies will be the key discussion points.
Participants will learn:
How collaborative healthcare will change the health professionals are educated and how healthcare is delivered
The role dental educators and practitioners can play in the care of older adults
How to build interprofessional oral health workforce by linking oral health to overall health
Examine how the success of the multidisciplinary approach in the treatment of people living which HIV can work for the elderly–another vulnerable segment of our society
