The scientific evidence behind the treatment and restoration of teeth with large coronal destruction and wide root canals is presented in a clinical approach aimed to dentists of different specialties.
Endodontic treatment and coronal restoration of teeth with important loss of tissues and wide canals is a great challenge. Different actions and working philosophies with broad scientific support will be proposed during the presentation in order to achieve reliable results. Emphasis will be placed on the coordinated and joint work of the endodontist and the prosthodontist, and on completing the clinical task in a single work session. Nowadays, different materials and technological resources collaborate with the achievement of reliable and lasting results and at the same time simplify obtaining the objectives that lead to clinical success. During the presentation, different clinical cases will be shown with photographs, videos and clinical microscopy videos, offering at the same time their scientific basis. A complete working sequence on a patient will also be presented on video.
Learning objectives:
Learning Objective 1: Understand a general working philosophy over teeth with important loss of tissues and wide root canals in which tridimensionality is got when performing the endodontic treatment but also when carrying out the restoration.
Learning Objective 2: Identify different techniques for achieving the above-mentioned objective.
Learning Objective 3: Understand different advantages of a joint endodontic and restorative process.
Learning outcome 1: Develop a joint and or continuous working procedure between the endodontic and restorative phases in teeth demanding endodontic treatments and large restorative procedures.
Learning outcome 2: Carry out a customizing process of a fiber post using FRC materials.
Learning outcome 3: Perform a CAD CAM fiber post (ideally in the same clinical session when the post space is created).
