Digital Orthodontics - Advantages and disadvantages
In the webinar Dr. Christensen will explore some of the recent advances in digital technologies. The session will critically explore some of the technologies that are proposed to make the life of the orthodontist easier.
3D technologies are frequently advertised as making orthodontics easy. Dr. Christensen aims to explain that digital technologies can be very helpful in the care of our patients, but will highlight some of the many problems that can occur when orthodontist and their staff introduce new technology in their clinics. It is paramount to keep control of the workflows and examples will be used to illustrate the problems that can occur when we trust technology blindly. The steps involved in the production of aligners, retainers, indirect bonding trays and metal printed appliances will be discussed and illustrated with clinical examples.
