Bridging gaps in dental antimicrobial stewardship: From research to real-world application
A webinar in celebration of World Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Awareness Week, focusing on the vital role of antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) in dentistry. This event will spotlight new research, including a systematic review of dental AMS, highlighting the effectiveness of face-to-face education over remote methods and the success of audit & feedback when utilizing routinely collected data. The speakers will also reflect on insights from the UN High-Level Meeting on AMR, particularly on how patients prefer receiving AMR information directly from clinicians rather than through leaflets, emphasizing the need for effective communication strategies in AMS.
The session will feature two innovative interventions: a clinical decision support tool and a shared decision-making resource, both aimed at enhancing AMS through point of care support in dental practice.
